Faculty of Human Ecology

SECTION 4: Bachelor of Human Ecology Programs
4.6 Family Studies
Head: John Bond, Jr.

Students majoring in Family Studies examine individual development within families; factors affecting family members and the family unit; and the interaction among family members, families and the social, political, economic and physical environments.

A Child Studies Concentration, with areas of specialization in infant development, special needs, and child centre management, is offered within the Family Studies major. Graduates from the Child Studies Concentration are eligible for ECE III classification upon application to the Manitoba Day Care office.

Before entering continuing years in the Faculty of Human Ecology, the overall program must be planned in consultation with the program advisor. Sessions are held in March of each year.
