Faculty of Human Ecology

SECTION 4: Bachelor of Human Ecology Programs
4.5 Clothing and Textiles
Head: Nelma Fetterman

Students majoring in Clothing and Textiles may select programs with emphasis on one or more of textile product development; textile and apparel economics and marketing; textile and apparel history; and textile science. Those who plan to emphasize the textile science area are advised that high school Chemistry 40S or 300 is a prerequisite to the chemistry background specified for this area of study. Students are advised that a cooperative arrangement exists with the Department of Human Ecology at the University of Alberta whereby students may spend one or two terms at the University of Alberta. A plan of study under this arrangement must be approved by the department head.

Before entering continuing years in the Faculty of Human Ecology, the overall program must be planned in consultation with the program advisor. Sessions are held in March of each year.
