General Academic Regulations and Policies Section 3: General Academic Regulations
3.24 Letter of Permission for Transfer of Credit
To obtain a Letter of Permission, application must be made to the Student Records Office as early as possible and at least one month prior to when required at the other institution. The application for a Letter of Permission is available at the Student Records Office.
Each application must be accompanied by the appropriate fee. (See Registration and Fees).
The fees are for each application and a separate application is required for each session and institution regardless of the number of courses being considered. Students planning to seek permission to take courses elsewhere for transfer of credit to the University of Manitoba are cautioned to check the current Calendar for the residence and degree requirements of the degree programs in which they are enrolled.
Credit for any transferred course will be given only in terms of credit hours earned. Each student should note that the GPA that must be obtained in a particular faculty or school will be determined solely on work completed at the University of Manitoba.
