Faculty of Human Ecology
Section 5: Program Requirements
5.6 Clothing and Textiles
Acting Head: Lena Horne
Students majoring in Clothing and Textiles may select programs
with emphasis on one or more of textile product development; textile
and apparel economics and marketing; textile and apparel history;
and textile science. Those who plan to emphasize textile science
are advised that high school Chemistry 40S is a prerequisite to
the chemistry specified for this area of study. Students are advised
that they may spend one or two terms at the University of Alberta's
department of Human Ecology. A plan of study under this arrangement
must be approved by the faculty in a Letter of Permission.
In March of each year program planning sessions are provided to assist students in their selection of courses for subsequent years of study. Signed approval by a faculty member is required before registration is permitted.
