Previous Calendars

Important Dates

The following dates apply to most faculties and schools. Some special dates apply to Agriculture Diploma, Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Medical Rehabilitation, Pharmacy and Dental Hygiene. See the Academic Schedule in the Undergraduate Calendar and Graduate Calendar as well as the chapter for your faculty or school for other dates that apply to you.

Fall Term 2008
September 2 and 3 University 1 Orientation (compulsory for all new University 1 students)
September 3 Last date for Fall Term fee payment without financial penalty
September 4 First day of classes for most faculties and schools
September 4 - 17 Registration revision period
October 13 Thanksgiving Day Holiday: No Classes
November 11 Remembrance Day: No Classes
November 12 Last date for Voluntary Withdrawal from courses in Fall Term 2008.  Some faculties have courses with irregular withdrawal dates; see your faculty general office for information
December 3 Classes end in most faculties and schools
December 5 - 18 Final examination period for most faculties and schools. Students must remain available until all examination obligations have been fulfilled
December 24 - January 4 University closed for Holiday Period
Winter Term 2009
January 5 University reopens (no classes).
January 6 Classes resume in most faculties and schools.
January 6 - 19 Registration revision period for Winter Term courses
January 8 Last date for Winter Term fee payment
February 16 Louis Riel Day. University closed.
February 16 - 20 Mid-Term break: No classes or examinations in most faculties and schools
March 19 Last day for Voluntary Withdrawal from all Fall/Winter Term 2008/2009 and Winter Term 2009 courses Some faculties have courses with irregular withdrawal dates, see your faculty general office for information
April 9 Classes end in most faculties and schools
April 10 Good Friday Holiday: University closed.
April 13 - 29 Final examination period for most faculties and schools. Students must remain available until all examination obligations have been fulfilled


Voluntary Withdrawal Dates and Fee Refunds
The following dates apply for courses in most faculties and schools. Students in Agriculture Diploma, Dentistry, Law, Medical Rehabilitation, Pharmacy and Dental Hygiene, and/or who are registered in irregularly scheduled courses should consult information provided by their faculty or school.
