The Arthur Mauro Senior Student Award Foundation provides an annual gift to support an award to commemorate the contributions Dr. Mauro has made to Investors Group Inc. Dr. Mauro is a past President and Chief Executive Officer of Investors Group Inc. The annual gift supports an annual award to encourage graduating undergraduate students to continue to graduate studies at The University of Manitoba. This award will be offered to a student who:
(1) has achieved high academic standing (at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average overall) in their undergraduate program;
(2) was enrolled in full-time study (at least 60% of a full-course load) in each of the last three years of undergraduate study;
(3) is seeking admission to the Faculty of Graduate Studies for the first year of graduate studies which will be within three years of their having completed their undergraduate degree;
(4) has demonstrated his /her contributions to the university community and to the larger community outside the university by means of submitting a two-page letter outlining these contributions.
The committee will consider the candidates' i) GPA and ii) their contributions to the university community and to the larger community outside the university as demonstrated in the two-page letter outlining these contributions with more emphasis given to the latter criterion.
