Eligibility	The interest generated by the Anatomical Research Fund will be used to assist graduate students and investigators in the following manner: Graduate Student Scholarships - not exceeding $1,500. All full-time students in the Human Anatomy Program are eligible. They must not be recipients of any other scholarship, fellowship or studentship award or salary income, exceeding $10,000. Grant-in-Aid of Research ($500 - $1000)* to anatomy faculty for the purchase of animals and/or supplies directly relating to experiments. This allocation will be made only when no other funds are available. Such interim financial support will be helpful to those who have been unsuccessful with their grant applications. Transportation and Registration Fees (maximum $500.00) for Graduate Students who are presenting a paper at the Canadian Federation of Biological Societies, American Association of Anatomists, or a related professional scientific meeting. This award will not be made if the supervisor has the necessary funds to cover the cost. Applications must be made at least six weeks prior to the meeting in order to take advantage of the most economical (advance booking/excursion) airfare. All expenses must be supported by receipts.

Eligibility	In memory of Clara Kemila Anderson (B.A./63, B.S.W./65, M.S.W./66), Lady Stick of Social Work in 1965-66, Mr. Peter D. Anderson, her husband, has established an awards fund at The University of Manitoba. From this fund, two annual awards will be available annually: effective in 1983, to the student who, in fulfilling the graduation requirements for the Master's degree, submits the best thesis or the best practicum in the Social Clinical Stream in the Master of Social Work program; effective in 1985, to the student who holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Manitoba and who obtains the highest admission score to the Master of Social Work program. Eligibility	From the gift of Mrs. Charlotte Anderson in memory of her husband, an awards fund has been established at the University of Manitoba. A graduate fellowship is available in the Department of Animal Science to a M.Sc. or Ph.D. student. Anderson Graduate Award in Chemistry has been established at the University of Manitoba with a gift of $70,000 from Dr. Anderson and a contribution from the Manitoba Scholarships and Bursaries Initiative. The purpose of this award is to support graduate students in the Department of Chemistry at The University of Manitoba who have demonstrated ability in research. Eligibility	In 2006, Mr. Anthony Arnhold (M.A./80), a graduate of Anthropology at the University of Manitoba, establishes an endowment fund to support an annual fellowship. The Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative has made a contribution to the fund. The available annual interest will be used to offer a fellowship to a student who: 1. is enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, in the Master's or PhD program in the Department of Anthropology 2. is an international student (i.e., entering Canada on a study permit) from a country in Europe OR, is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident whose regional study focus is on Europe; 3. has achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on the last 12 credit hours completed; 4. is pursuing thesis research for his or her degree in any subfield of Anthropology. Candidates must submit an application form, two academic letters of reference, a curriculum vitae, and a two- or three- page research proposal explaining the contribution of the thesis research to the field of Anthropology. The selection committee will have the discretion to determine the number of awards to be offered annually, although normally one will be awarded. If the selection committee determines, in any given year, that there is no appropriate candidate, the fellowship may not be awarded. The award is not automatically renewable but previous recipients may apply. The fellowship may not be held with any other major awards offered through the University of Manitoba or national awards valued in excess of $6,000. The selection committee will be the Graduate Programs Committee in the Department of Anthropology.
