Through a gift from the Canadian Credit Management Foundation and a contribution from the Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative, an endowment fund has been established at the University of Manitoba to provide scholarships to students studying in the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba and working as interns with the Asper Chair in International Business and Trade Law. These scholarships are designed with the purpose of attracting top students interested in the area of International Business and Trade Law to the University of Manitoba, retaining them as they pursue their studies in this field, rewarding them for their demonstrated excellence and providing them with the experience needed to pursue careers or further study in this field.
Each year the fund shall support up to four scholarship. These scholarhships will be offered to students who:
are enrolled full-time either in the Faculty of Law, in the Bachelor of Law degree program, or in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, in the Master of Law degree program;
have been selected as an intern to work with the Asper Chair in International Business and Trade Law, based on their academic achievement and aptitude for, and interest in, advanced legal research. |

The Foundation offers funding to support cystic fibrosis research and training in these categories:
Scholarships The CCFF Scholarship program is intended to attract gifted inverstigators to CF research. To that end, applications are restricted to candidates who ahve received their first faculty appointment within the preceding five calendar years. Applicants must hold an M.D. or Ph.D. and must be sponsored by the chairman of the appropriate departmenn and by the dean of the faculty. Scholarships must be held in conjunction with a CCFF Research grant. Fellowships Individuals who hold M.D. or Ph.D. degrees are eligible to apply. Medical graduates should already have completed basic residency training and must be eligible for Canadian licensure. Studentships are awarded for studies at the master's or doctoral level. Students are expected to spend at least 75% of their time on the research training described in their application. It is recognized that for joing MD/MSc or MD/PhD programs that the percentage of time spent on research training may vary. Special Travel Allowances for Fellows & Students may be awarded to CCFF-supported Fellows and Students, for each year of their award, upon written application and pending the availability of funds. No CCFF-supported Fellow or Student may receive more than one grant per year. Subject to the availability of funds and under certain circumstances, CCFF-supported Scholars, physicians who are not CF clinic directors but who specialize in the clinical care of adults with cystic fibrosis at Canadian CF clinics, and recipients of the Skelly and Lackey Summer Studentship awards, may also be eligible. |

The Canadian Dairy Commission has provided a contribution to the University of Manitoba to create the Canadian Dairy Commission Scholarship Program. Beginning in the fall of 2006, this program will provide graduate scholarships to students who are Canadian citizens and permanent residents (i.e., landed immigrants) and who:
are enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Manitoba in either the M.Sc. or Ph.D. program;
are conducting research in the areas of agricultural economics and policy, food science, or animal science (with a maximum of 20% of the total funds available to students in the Department of Animal Science) and whose thesis project has application to the dairy industry. |

The memory of those who lost their lives at École Polytechnique 20 years ago is kept alive through the numerous scholarships provided by the Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation each year and the remarkable women who receive the prestigious awards.
The Foundation was formed in 1990 and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2010. Foundation president Huntley O’Connor, P.Eng. says supporting and encouraging women to pursue a career in engineering has been, and remains the mandate and purpose of the Foundation.
The generosity of the Foundation’s donors and supporters provides 10 annual scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 at the undergraduate, Master’s and PhD levels of study to be awarded to women across Canada. The Foundation is supported in its efforts through its Corporate, Faculty and Scholarship Partners. |

The Francois-Xavier Garneau Medal Awarded every five years, it is the most prestigious of the CHA prizes. It honours an outstanding Canadian contribution to historical research. The prize, in the amount of $2,000, will be awarded by the Canadian Historical Association in 2010 at the Annual Meeting of the Canadian Historical Association at Concordia University, Montreal. 2010 Sir John A. Macdonald Prize Competition The Canadian Historical Association is pleased to announce its 31st Sir John A. Macdonald Prize competition. The prize, in the amount of $1,000, will be awarded by the Canadian Historical Association in 2010 at the Annual Meeting of the Canadian Historical Association at Concordia University, Montreal, for the non-fiction work of Canadian history “judged to have made the most significant contribution to an understanding of the Canadian past”. 2010 Wallace K. Ferguson Prize Competition The prize, in the amount of $1,000, will be awarded to a Canadian citizen or Canadian landed immigrant who has published the outstanding scholarly book in a field of history OTHER THAN CANADIAN HISTORY during the past year. The Canadian Masonry Research Institute has established and endowment fund to provide a scholarship in the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Manitoba.
The fund will provide an annual scholarship to a student who:
is enrolled as a full-time student in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, in a Master’s program in the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Manitoba (Architecture, City Planning, Interior Design or Landscape Architecture);
has achieved a minimum degree grade point average of 3.0 (or equivalent) based on his or her first year of study in a Master’s degree program;
is conducting research specifically related to unit or stone masonry studies;
submits the best written proposal (approximately 250 words) and any relevant supporting documents specifically relating to unit or stone masonry studies.
