The Canadian Water Resources Association annually offers six scholarships. These scholarships are available to graduate students whose programs of study focus upon applied, natural, or social sciences aspects of water resources. The scholarships will have the following values:
Dillon Consulting Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to the highest ranked of the applicants. Value: $5,000
Ken Thomson Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to the second highest ranked of the applicants. Value: $2,000
CWRA Memorial Scholarship A tribute to CWRA Members remembered by their colleagues donations to the Scholarship Fund Value: $1,500
Harker/Cameron - Women in Water Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to the highest ranked female applicant whom has not already been awarded a higher scholarship. This scholarship is presented to recognize the ongoing legacy of Jennifer Harker and Valerie Cameron. Value: $2,000.
Rick Ross Student Scholarship This scholarship is presented to recognize the ongoing legacy of Rick Ross. Value: $2,000
Golder Scholarship for Indigenous Students in Water Awarded to the highest ranked Indigenous applicant who has not already been awarded a higher-ranking scholarship. Funding for the 2022 scholarship has been provided by Golder Associates. Value: $2,000
All applicants will receive a one-year membership in the Canadian Water Resources Association. The scholarships are open either to Canadian citizens or landed immigrants attending a Canadian University or college, who are enrolled in full-time graduate studies in any discipline in both Fall and Winter terms of the 2021-2022 academic year. The scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of academic excellence and project relevance to water management and development. When applicants are equal on the basis of these criteria, selection will be based on encouraging broad geographic, discipline and career stage representations as well as considering affirmative action for women.

Six assistantships shall be awarded annually by the Canadian Wheat Board to full time graduate students involved in grain-related research programs. Of particular interest is the study and/or research of cereal plant breeding. The recipient must have a proven record of outstanding academic achievement, and research interest and potential in some aspect of research on grain production or marketing. The assistantship will normally be available over a three-year period, given satisfactory academic and research progress by the recipient.

The Norman Barwin Scholarship for reproductive health is for a full-time graduate student registered at a Canadian University during the 2011-2012 academic year. The scholarship is open to Canadian Citizens or landed immigrants who are graduates of any recognized university, with an Honours degree or its equivalent. She or he must be enrolled at the time of application and must be working toward a higher degree (e.g. Masters or PhD) in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights. This could include disciplines such as biology, Canadian studies, education, global health, history, law, medicine, nursing, political science, psychology, social work, sociology, and women’s studies. Other fields of study can also be considered relevant if the research project clearly addresses sexual and reproductive health and rights. |

Nelson Jr. and his career-long contributions to the Department of Landscape Architecture, his colleagues, friends, family, graduates and students have established an endowment fund to support a travelling fellowhship in the Department of Landscape Architecture.
The fund is to support one or more travelling fellowships in the Department of Landscape Architecture. The fellowhship shall be offered to graduate students who:

Mary Catherine Cartwright (Arts ‘26) was a keen student of philosophy who went on to have a career as a teacher and educational administrator in Toronto. At her death she left a bequest to The University of Manitoba “for the use and benefit of the Department of Philosophy as distinct from the Department of Psychology”. The Mary Catherine Cartwright Fellowships for Master’s students in philosophy are made possible by this generous bequest.
At the time of taking up the award, a recipient must be commencing full-time study in the Master of Arts program in philosophy. The award will be tenable for one year and will not be renewed.
The recipient of a Cartwright Fellowship must have achieved a grade point average of not less than 3.60 over a base period defined as follows: the results of at least one full year of study consisting of not less than 24 credit hours prior to the year during which the award is applied for, plus whatever results are available for the first term of the academic year during which the award is applied for. |

The Certified General Accountants Association of Manitoba offers awards in the I.H. Asper School of Business valued at $1,000 each. In addition, $300 CGA tuition awards are to be offered to candidates who otherwise meet the established award criteria, but are not selected for one of the major awards.
Four major awards valued at $1,000 each are to be offered each year as follows:
The CGA Award for students in the Master of Business Administration program ($500 cash and $500 CGA tuition) is to be offered to the graduating MBA Manitoba student achieving the highest cumulative grade point average in the program.
Three other awards ($300 cash and $700 CGA tuition each) are to be offered, one to a graduating student from the Part-Time MBA program achieving the highest cumulative grade point average in the program and to the top two graduating students in the B. Comm. (Hons.) program who majored in either finance or accounting. Winners of these latter three awards will be selected from among those who submit written applications to the I.H. Asper School of Business by an established date and who:
(1) are enrolled in the I.H. Asper School of Business in their graduating year;
(2) have attained a minimum degree grade point average of 3.0;
(3) have indicated an interest in pursuing a career in professional financial
management.
Candidates for these latter three awards will be judged primarily on academic merit and program pattern, though extracurricular activities and career aspirations may be considered in the event of a tie. |
