The Child Health Graduate Studentship in Nursing has been established at the University of Manitoba through contributions from the Children's Hospital Foundation and the University's Graduate Fellowship Matching Funds Program. This studentship will recognize students who already have practical work experience in Pediatric Nursing and show an interest in continuing to study at the graduate level in this field. This studentship will be offered to a student who:
has worked as a nurse, with a focus on children or child health, following completion of an undergraduate nursing degree;
is enrolled as a full-time student or part-time student in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, in a graduate program delivered by the Faculty of Nursing;
has achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 (or equivalent) based on the last 60 credit hours (or equivalent);
has submitted the best research roposal for a graduate thesis in the field of child health, as judged by the selection committee. |

An endowment fund to support graduate scholarships was created in 1992 with a gift made to St. John's College via "Founding the Future" by Arthur U. Chipman of Winnipeg, with matching funds provided by The University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship Matching Funds Program.
The fund is to be awarded each year to a student who:
is commencing full-time studies in a Masters or Ph.D. program in the Faculty of Graduate Studies of The University of Manitoba;
is registered or will register as a member of St. John's College;
has achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.5 in the final two years of the previous program. Preference will given to applicants studying in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The recipient of this scholarship will be guaranteed the use of a "grad" carrel at St. John's College for the academic year in which it is held, under terms by the St. John's College Students' Association. |

George Cibinel of Cibinel Architects Ltd. has established an endowment fund at the University of Manitoba. The Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative has made a contribution to the fund. The fund will be used to offer scholarships to recognize students who demonstrate passion for design, professional promise, and clarity of purpose. The available annual income from the fund will be used to offer one scholarship, in the fall term, to a graduate student who:
- has completed the first year of the Master of Architecture program;

The CIHR Canada Graduate Research Scholarships - Doctoral program (CGRS-D) provides support for a high quality research training experience to students who are pursuing a doctoral degree in a health-related field in Canada or abroad.
To be eligible to apply, you must:
1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or a Protected Person, as of the application date;
2. be an international student, however you must be enrolled in your doctoral program of study at the time of application - Registered in the Fall 2025 term
3. intend to pursue, in the 2026-2027 academic year, full-time graduate studies in an eligible doctoral program; and
4. have completed no more than 36 months of full-time study in your doctoral program, the PhD portion of a joint professional undergraduate/PhD program (such as MD/PhD) or the joint program (such as MA/PhD, MSc/PhD) by December 31, 2025

FACULTY OF GRADUATE & POSTDOCTORAL STUDIES STATEMENT ON TRANSCRIPTS:
Students are responsible for obtaining OFFICIAL, up-to-date, and complete transcripts for all post-secondary institutions attended and attaching them to their Tri-Agency award application. This includes all undergraduate and graduate studies, completed or ongoing. ONLY official transcripts will be accepted; web or unofficial transcripts will not be accepted and will result in an application being ineligible for the competition.
The following documents must also be included in their application:

The transcript key/legend for each institution
An official University of Manitoba transcript showing Fall 2025 registration is required, regardless of whether or not grades are displayed
The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies does not provide students with copies of transcripts from student records or copies of previously submitted transcripts. This includes transcripts from other Canadian or international post-secondary institutions, UManitoba, and transcripts submitted as part of previous or current admission or award applications.
For transcripts from international institutions ONLY (outside Canada and USA), certified true copies of official transcripts are acceptable. If the transcripts are not presented in one of Canada's two official languages (English or French), a certified translation must be provided, in addition to the official transcripts in its original language. Through the generosity of the Western Canada Dental Society, a fund has been given to establish The John W. Clay Scholarship a The University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry to commemorate the contribution of Dr. John W. Clay, a distinguished dental practitioner and citizen of Calgary, Alberta, since 1905. The value of the scholarship will be the accumulated interest on the fund, subject to clause two and subject to the fact that the John W. Clay Medal shall be the first charge against the annual income.
One scholarship annually will be available for award to a student who graduates from The University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry in the year the award is made, and who intends to pursue graduate or post-graduate studies at an institution acceptable to the selection committee. The student must be outstanding in the opinion of the selection committee. The donors request that the committee give consideration to such qualities as aptitude for graduate study, and a sense of professional and community responsibility, as well as the financial need. The committee has the right to withhold an award in any year in which no such candidate is available.
