Eligibility The Chevening programme has, over 26 years, provided more than 30,000 Scholarships at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the UK for postgraduate students or researcher from countries across the world.
The Foreign Secretary has now announced Foreign Office programme spending for 2011-12, and updated Parliament on plans to align programme spend with Foreign Office priorities. The application and selection process for the Chevening scheme is underway in many countries. However, before making an application you should visit the local British Embassy or High Commission at http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-living-abroad/find-an-embassy/ or British Council office at http://www.britishcouncil.org/new/articles/maps/ where any details about the scheme will run locally will be published; including if the Chevening programme is running in your country, any local guidance or criteria, as well as application opening and closing dates.
