From a fund established by the late Walter S. Buchanan and held in trust by the National Trust Company awards are made available to the five Canadian universities.
The awards offered to the University of Manitoba are two in number. For the present, each shall have a value of 200 except that the Govenors of the trust may forward to the University a share of the value of the earnings of the trust then unawarded. This share may be used either to supplement awards already made or to provide additional awards.
One of the awards shall be made to a student who has taken a degree (General or Honours) with English as a principal subject and one to a student who have taken Histroy as a principal subject. The recipients must process in the next ensuing academic year to the next year in course i.e., either the pre-Master's of the Master's year in Arts. |
