The Certified General Accountants Association of Manitoba offers awards in the I.H. Asper School of Business valued at $1,000 each. In addition, $300 CGA tuition awards are to be offered to candidates who otherwise meet the established award criteria, but are not selected for one of the major awards.
Four major awards valued at $1,000 each are to be offered each year as follows:
The CGA Award for students in the Master of Business Administration program ($500 cash and $500 CGA tuition) is to be offered to the graduating MBA Manitoba student achieving the highest cumulative grade point average in the program.
Three other awards ($300 cash and $700 CGA tuition each) are to be offered, one to a graduating student from the Part-Time MBA program achieving the highest cumulative grade point average in the program and to the top two graduating students in the B. Comm. (Hons.) program who majored in either finance or accounting. Winners of these latter three awards will be selected from among those who submit written applications to the I.H. Asper School of Business by an established date and who:
(1) are enrolled in the I.H. Asper School of Business in their graduating year;
(2) have attained a minimum degree grade point average of 3.0;
(3) have indicated an interest in pursuing a career in professional financial
management.
Candidates for these latter three awards will be judged primarily on academic merit and program pattern, though extracurricular activities and career aspirations may be considered in the event of a tie. |
