Eligibility An endowment fund to support graduate scholarships was created in 1992 with a gift made to St. John's College via "Founding the Future" by Arthur U. Chipman of Winnipeg, with matching funds provided by The University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship Matching Funds Program.
The fund is to be awarded each year to a student who:
  • is commencing full-time studies in a Masters or Ph.D. program in the Faculty of Graduate Studies of The University of Manitoba;
  • is registered or will register as a member of St. John's College;
  • has achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.5 in the final two years of the previous program.
  • Preference will given to applicants studying in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The recipient of this scholarship will be guaranteed the use of a "grad" carrel at St. John's College for the academic year in which it is held, under terms by the St. John's College Students' Association.
