Eligibility Through the generosity of the Western Canada Dental Society, a fund has been given to establish The John W. Clay Scholarship a The University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry to commemorate the contribution of Dr. John W. Clay, a distinguished dental practitioner and citizen of Calgary, Alberta, since 1905. The value of the scholarship will be the accumulated interest on the fund, subject to clause two and subject to the fact that the John W. Clay Medal shall be the first charge against the annual income.
One scholarship annually will be available for award to a student who graduates from The University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry in the year the award is made, and who intends to pursue graduate or post-graduate studies at an institution acceptable to the selection committee. The student must be outstanding in the opinion of the selection committee. The donors request that the committee give consideration to such qualities as aptitude for graduate study, and a sense of professional and community responsibility, as well as the financial need. The committee has the right to withhold an award in any year in which no such candidate is available.
The scholarship is tenable with other awards.
