Eligibility Dr. Margaret R. Francis was Associate Professor in the School of Nursing from 1975 to 1987. Dr. Francis was an accomplished scholar, an exemplary role model for faculty and students, and made a significant contribution to the establishment of the Master of Nursing Program. The family and friends of Margaret Francis have instituted a scholarship fund at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Manitoba. Friends and colleagues are welcome to contribute to this fund.
  • The fund will be disbursed annuallly and is to provide an award to a graduate student in the Faculty of Nursing who:
  • is from an international background (priority will be given to students with student visas, landed immigrant status, or those students who recently immigrated to Canada); or,
  • has a research/clinical interest in the health of immigrant populations, marginalized populations, international health, multicultural health; and,
  • demonstrates clinical proficiency and a high standard of academic performance.
