The family of Christina Gow has established a scholarship fund at the Faculty of Nursing, University of
Manitoba, with additional contributions from friends and colleagues. Professor Gow had a long term
interest in community health nursing as a practitioner, scholar, teacher, and mentor. She taught
community health nursing for a number of years to students in the four year Baccalaureate Nursing
Program, Baccalaureate Program for Registered Nurses, and the Master of Nursing Program.
The available annual interest earned on the fund will be used to offer one scholarship to a graduate student who:
is enrolled full-time or part-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, in a graduate program
delivered by the Faculty of Nursing;
has a substantial background in community health nursing practice;
has completed 6 credit hours in the program with a focus in community health nursing;
demonstrates successful academic performance in the graduate program; and
is planning to continue her/his career in community health nursing upon graduation.
Members of the Faculty of Graduate Studies are invited to submit a letter of nomination on behalf of the graduate student by the designated deadline. |
