Eligibility A fund has been established from the proceedings of the Learned Societies Conference held at The University of Manitoba in 1986. From this fund a number of scholarships will be available to full-time graduate students registered in the departments which participated in the Learned Societies Conference in 1986 at The University of Manitoba and to students registered in both undergraduate and graduate programs in the Faculty of Law. The selection committee will base its decision on the candidates' abilities to profit from these meetings. Normally no one student will be awarded this scholarship more than twice during his/her years of study at this university.

Eligible students include those registered full-time in faculties and departments represented at the 1986 Learned Societies conference (Education, Law, and most departments in the Faculty of Arts).

Preference will be given to:
  • full-time graduate students (and Law students) presenting papers (confirmation, if available at the time or application, must be attached to the application)
  • full-time graduate students (and Law students) who have submitted papers to the Congress for consideration (but have not yet been accepted for presentaton)
  • Value $750 maximum to help defray costs of attending the conference

    Tenable at University of Manitoba for the 2018-2019 competition year.

  • a letter indicating reasons for wishing to attend the Congress of Social Sciences and Humanities Conference; and
  • a copy of the abstract(s) for the paper(s) being presented
  • the Waiver form available at http://umanitoba.ca/faculties/graduate_studies/funding/forms.html

    Please note students attending Congress can not apply for funding through the UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA GRADUATE STUDENT TRAVEL AWARDS.
