Eligibility |
The LES Foundation, in cooperation with The Licensing Executives Society (USA & Canada) and The Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), is hosting a competition for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars interested in intellectual property (IP) and licensing issues. Entrants must submit a comprehensive business plan that includes an overview of its IP assets and how these IP assets will be commercialized to achieve business goals. They will have the opportunity to receive guidance and mentorship from LES members in their industry sector. Team Composition:
All members of each team must provide verification via a resume or short biography that they are currently enrolled in a graduate program (e.g. MS/MBA/MD/JD/PhD), a postdoctoral program, or an undergraduate program (e.g. BS/BA). Students who recently completed their degree program may be eligible to participate if they both wrote their business plan for academic credit and graduated in the preceding academic year (e.g. Spring 2010 graduation for U.S. universities or an equivalent term for non-U.S. universities).
Teams with undergraduate students must have at least one graduate student (e.g. MS/MBA/MD/JD/PhD) or postdoc.
The team may have members from different universities.
There is no limit to the number of students on the team, but The LES Foundation and LESI will only pay economy airfares, hotel accommodations, and conference registration costs for up to two individuals per finalist team. |
