Eligibility The purpose of this award is to encourage and support thesis, dissertation or comparable research projects at a graduate level that is applicable to the child care filed. Topics may includes child care centre design, child developmental issues, cultural diversity, integration, health issues for children such as poverty, FASD or SIDS, women's issues such as maternity leaves, balancing work and family, or social issues such as child poverty, family support, etc. Eligibility - Applicant:
  • must be a Manitoba resident
  • must be current personal MCCA member
  • must be registered full or part-time in a graduate program at an accredited university
  • msut have had their proposal accepted for thesis; dissertation, or comparable research project (not included are papers related to course work)
  • ensure their research topic is applicable to the child care field as determined be the Awards Commitee appointed by the Manitoba Child Care Association
  • must be able to report the results of the research project at the annual MCCA conference (at discretion of the MCSS Conference Committee) and provide a copy of the thesis.
    Value - the recipient will:
  • receive a monetary award of $500 awarded to one student anually
  • be presented with a plaque
  • receive 2 complimentary tickets to the awards banquet
  • have name inscribed on a plaque at MCCA
  • be profiled in the fall issue of Child Care Bridges and/or MCCA website
  • Value $500
