Eligibility The Manitoba Horticulturists Graduate Scholarship was established in 1990 with the proceeds of the sale of “A Century of Horticulture in Manitoba 1880-1980" by Peter J. Peters to promote the development of horticulture in Manitoba by supporting horticulture research.
A scholarship is available to a graduate student at The University of Manitoba who is conducting applied or basic horticulture research. This award shall be granted to a promising and deserving Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident who:
  • has successfully completed, with high standing, one year of a Masters or Ph.D. program at The University of Manitoba;
  • is registered for a the second year in a Masters program or for a second or third year in a Ph.D. program at The University of Manitoba;
  • has demonstrated achievement in horticulture research applicable to the Canadian prairies.

  • If for any reason there is no suitable candidate for this award, the award will not be granted for that year.
