The Wallace Funds, established by DeWitt Wallace and Lila Acheson Wallace, late owners of Reader's Digest, propose to establish a scholarship as follows: The scholarship shall be for graduates of the School of Art, or graduates in fine arts studying at The University of Manitoba, seeking to further their study of fine arts in the United States. Up to three awards annually. The Scholarship is intended to commemorate Lila Acheson Wallace, a native of Virden, Manitoba, who, in addition to being a major force in the development of Reader's Digest, has an enduring interest in the fine arts, including art in relationship to Women's Studies, and the long-standing Canadian corporate citizenship of Reader's Digest. |
