Eligibility |
In honour of Norval C. Young, former president of Feed Rite Ltd. and long time friend and generous supporter of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, a fund has been established for the purpose of providing an annual graduate fellowship in animal nutrition. This award will be issued each year either as a "top-up" award for the graduate student in animal nutrition who ranks highest among those students in Animal Science receiving a University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship or it may be offered as a "stand-alone" award. Preference will be given to an M.Sc. student. The Young Fellowship may be held for two years (M.Sc.) or three years (Ph.D.) when offered as a "top-up" award to a UMGF recipient. If, in any year, no candidate eligible for the Young Fellowship is successful in the UMGF competition, the Young Fellowship may be offered as a "stand-alone" award for one year only to the top-ranked UMGF applicant, or to any other student the selection committee considers a worthy recipient. |
