Eligibility Dr. Robert P. Knowles, a world renowned forage crop breeder, had a 50-year distinguished career with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. As a result of his generous legacy, the University of Saskatchewan is able to award The Robert P. Knowles Scholarships (PhD or M.Sc.) through the Robert P. Knowles Scholarship Fund.
Open to students entering or pursuing full-time graduate studies in a M.Sc. or Ph.D. program engaged in research to develop or apply methods to create, identify or select superior forage, cereal, oilseed, or pulse crops for commercial agriculture. Applicants must be Canadian citizens and have resided in Canada for a minimum of five years. Applicants must also have graduated with an undergraduate degree from a Canadian university and obtained a high academic standing. In addition, students who have completed all their undergraduate studies at the University of Saskatchewan have the option (and only these students) of pursuing postgraduate work at any approved university in Canada or the United States. Preference will be given to students whose research proposal includes outdoor field research activity.
Value Master's: $20,000 per year (2.5 yrs.) PhD: $25,000 per year (4 yrs.) $5,000 Travel allowance which may be used over the life of the Award
