Eligibility	In honour of the retirement of two of its members and in order to support a vibrant graduate program critical to research in mathematics, the Department of Mathematics at The University of Manitoba has established a fund to provide an award for graduate students in that Department. An annual award will be offered to a graduate student who: has been in the Ph.D. program in the Department of Mathematics for no fewer than nine months by May 31 of the year that the award is offered, or has been in the M.Sc. program in the Department of Mathematics for no fewer than nine months by the above date, and has been accepted to the Ph.D. program in the Department of Mathematics for the next academic session; has demonstrated potential for excellence in research at the Ph.D. level; has achieved the highest cumulative grade point average on all course work completed in the graduate program among the candidates meeting criteria (1) and (2) in the Department of Mathematics at The University of Manitoba.
