Eligibility Through a testamentary gift from Mrs. Emilie Sumi Denney, a fund has been established at The University of Manitoba to encourage continued studies in French at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The fund will support awards, the number and value of which will be determined each year by the selection committee will be offered to students who:
  • have completed at least one year of study in a program in French at The University of Manitoba, at a graduate, honours, major, or minor level;
  • have achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on all French courses;
  • enrol full-time in the consecutive year in a graduate, honours, major, or minor program in French in the academic session in which this award is tenable.

  • A recipient cannot normally receive this award two years in a row, but may hold this award again in a non-consecutive year.
