Eligibility Canadian Blood Services offers a Graduate Fellowship Program to attract and support young investigators to initiate or continue training in the field of blood transfusion science. This program is offered to graduate students who are undertaking full-time research training leading to a PhD degree. The fellowship is awarded directly to the student. Studens may be supported for a maximum of 4 years. Eligibiity:
  • Be engaged in full-time training in research in a Canadian graduate school leading to a PhD or combined health professional PhD program
  • Demonstrate acceptance into a PhD program to receive continued support. Students registered solely for a Master's degree will not be considered
  • Be in a training program which includes actual involvement in research, and not only courses in research methods
  • Meet the above criteria, if they possess a medical degree but are not licensed to practice in Canada
  • Engage in research projects falling within the scientific areas described in Section 1 of these Guidelines.
  • Value $21,000 per annum, plus $1,000 per annum provided with each fellowship.
