Eligibility The National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation’s mission, working in partnership with Aboriginal, private and public sector stakeholders, is to promote, support and celebrate the achievement of Canada’s Aboriginal Peoples. The National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation offers financial awards to First Nations (status and non-status), Inuit and Métis students through four major programs and an additional specialized program: The Fine Arts Bursary Awards Program Post Secondary studies, personal development, training with a professional or at a non-accredited arts organization, in fields such as visual, performing, media, theatre, production, graphic and literary arts. Application deadline: May 1 The Post-Secondary Education Bursary Awards Program for study in business, science, law, engineering, technical studies, computer science, education, social work and social sciences. Application deadline: June 1 The Aboriginal Health Careers Program for study in health sciences such as medicine, nursing, dentistry, biology, physiotherapy, pharmacy, laboratory research and any other health field in which a study of hard sciences is a prerequisite. Application deadline: June 1 The Oil & Gas Trades & Technology Bursary & Scholarship Program for study in areas such as general education diploma, applied diploma or degree programs in oil & gas trades & technology fields, academic upgrading or preparation, pretrades training, apprenticeship education programs, and pre-employment training. Application deadline: April 30 The Ontario Indian Friendship Centre Bursary for mature Aboriginal women with dependant children residing in an urban setting in Ontario. Application deadline: May 1
