Eligibility Graduate Student Award of Merit. At least three awards, each in the amount of $2500, will be awarded annually to the women graduate students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the university or general community while maintaining exemplary academic records. Eligibility Women registered in Master's or PhD programs at any Member Institution of AUCC visit http://www.aucc.ca/ within a designated region are eligible to be nominated. Regions and number of awards are defined as follows, and eligibility shall rotate among them: Quebec [2012] - 4 awards Western Provinces [2013] - 4 awards Atlantic Provinces [2014] - 3 awards Ontario [2015] - 5 awards
Criteria
  • Outstanding academic performance.
  • Evidence of leadership, including but not limited to such things as: * executive positions in student organizations * participation on committees (student committees and university committees) * organization of special events, conferences, etc. * involvement in advocacy groups * involvement in volunteer organizations, within the campus setting and/or in the general community.
Value $2500
Four awards, each in the amount of $2,500 throughout the Western Provinces 2013 competition.

Deadlines January 4
Application Details Each university in the designated region may nominate, through the Dean of Graduate Studies or her/his delegate, one person for the award. Please submit the following on or before the deadline to the Awards Assistant, Faculty of Graduate Studies 500 University Centre,:
  • biographical data
  • curriculum vitae
  • Official academic transcripts of all post-secondary studies. Note that for international transcripts only, certified true copies made by your department and submitted in a sealed and endorsed envelope is accepted.
  • three letters of reference submitted in a sealed and endorsed envelope.
