The Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, under the Directorship of Dr. N.S. Dhalla wishes to recognize the outstanding leadership and services of Professor P.K. Singal for developing a high profile graduate training program in cardiovascular sciences. To be eligible, students must:
- be enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (Master’s or Ph.D. program) at the University of Manitoba in a program delivered by the Max Rady College of Medicine, and affiliated with the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences at St. Boniface General Hospital Research Centre;
- have completed at least one Regular Session (or two terms) in the chosen program to date (Fall 2024 & Winter 2025 or Winter 2025 & Summer 2025);
- have achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 (on all graduate courses completed to date).
The award may be held concurrently with any other awards, consistent with the policies of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
Note: One student may not hold this award more than once. |

- two-page (maximum) description of research including career goals;
Your Summary must be in plain language and should be readable by someone with a background in the discipline but with no specialized knowledge of the particular field of research. Maximum 2 pages, no format requirements.
Letter can be addressed to: Pawan K. Singal Graduate Student Scholarship in Cardiovascular Sciences Award Selection Committee.
Optional: You may append your Research Proposal (in addition to the required 2 page summary).
- current curriculum vitae (CV);
- two letters of reference;
one from your thesis supervisor and the other from a professor at a post-secondary institution.
