Eligibility Please note that training awards are suspended until further notice. This information is provide for reference only. Travel Awards: A limited number of Travel Awards to senior level PhD or MD/PhD students are available. The purpose of this program is to defray the travel costs associated with making a scientific presentation at a conference, symposium or other appropriate professional gathering. Eligibility: Applicants must be students in a PhD or MD/PhD program at a Canadian institution. Candidates must be attending a conference for the purpose of presenting data (paper or poster presentation) from a cancer-related project on a first-author basis. It is not a requirement taht the research supervisor be supported by Canadian Cancer Society research grant. Individuals may receive this award only once. Although more than one student of a given supervisor may apply for a travel award, a maximum of one award per supervisor will be given in a calendar year. Recipients of Canadian Cancer Society Research Studentships are not eligible to apply for a concurrent Student Travel Award. Studentship A limited number of Research Studentships are available to outstanding PhD students who plan a career in cancer research in Canada. At the time of application, applicants must be residents of Canada, engaged in a full-time PhD program at a Canadian institution and have completed at least two years of research training at the graduate level or have equivalent research experience. Summer student positions, undergraduate summer studentships and honours level research do not qualify.
