Eligibility For more than two decades the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada (AFPC) offers prestigious awards to recognize career researchers and educators, new investigators, undergraduate and graduate students, and special groups or individuals contributing to the success of AFPC and Canadian academic pharmacy. Awards available to graduate students offered by AFPC are: The AFPC Whit Matthews Graduate Student Poster Award is awarded each year to a graduate student presenting a poster at the Annual AFPC Conference. Value: $500 Application deadline: March 15, 2011 AFPC - Pharmacy Student Research Poster Award To stimulate and foster the development of research programs and research skills, in all areas of Pharmacy, by undergraduate and graduate students of Faculties, Colleges, and Schools of Pharmacy in Canada. Value: 1. Return economy-class fare from his/her residence to the site of the AFPC meeting at the most economical rates available. 2. A per diem of one hundred dollars ($100) for each day’s attendance at the annual meeting. 3. A ticket to the AFPC banquet. 4. A complimentary registration for the annual meeting. Application deadline: March 15, 2011 Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy - AFPC Graduate Student Award for Pharmacy Practice Research The CFP/AFPC award will be given fo rthe best research paper published or accepted for publication during the year preceding the AFPC annual meeting by a pharmacy graduate student. The paper will report on research completed by the applicant while a graduate student at a Canadian Faculty of pharmacy. Value: $750 and a certificate of recognition for the achievement. Travel and hotel funds for a maximum of 3 days will be provided for the recipient to attend and present his/her work at the AFPC Conference. Application deadline: March 1, 2011 Glaxosmithkline/AFPC Graduate Student Research Award will be given for the best scientific paper written and submitted for publication by a graduate student during the year preceding the annual meeting. Value: $1,500 to cover travel costs plus $750 honorarium for the achievements. Application deadline: March 1, 2011 Merck Frosst Canada Ltd. Postgraduate Pharmacy Fellowship Award In an effort to stimulate the pursuit fo research careers among pharmacy students and graduates, Merck Frosst Canada Ltd. offer one Fellowship to support the best student entering or continuing postgraduate studies in Pharmacy at a Canadian University.
