Mrs. Ruther Asper (B.P.E/'81, B.R.S/'83) has established an endowment fund at the University of Manitoba to provide two scholarships of equal value, to graduate students pursuing studies in physical education, kinesiology, and fitness. Ninety percent of the available annual interest earned on the fund shall be used to offer scholarships to graduate students who:
are enrolled as full-time students in the first year of the Master of Science (Kinesiology and Recreation, the Master of Arts (Kinesiology and Recreation, or the Ph.D. in Applied Health Sciences under the supervision of a professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management;
as entering students, have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.5 in the most recent 60 credit hours (or equivalent) of study;
will conduct thesis research focused on fitness, exercise, and/or physical activity.
