Eligibility Canadian Graduae Student Microbiologist of the Year University nominations are reviewed and ranked by a 5-member International Scientific Committee. The award consists of a quality gold coin from the Royal Canadian Mint, travel, accomodation, and registration to the annual meeting and a banquet ticket. Nomination deadline: April 9, 2010 Cedarlane Student Award The award is presented to the best student presentation as part of the symposium competition. Value: a plaque and a $500 cash award. CCM Student Awards Two awards of $500 and a certificate. One for the best student symposium and the other for the best poster ISME-8 Student Awards One award will be presented for the best student oral presentaion in microbial ecology and another for the best student presentation in microbial ecology. Value: two awards worth $500 and a certificate presented by the Atlantic Canada Society for Microbial Ecology. ASM Student Awards The ASM will provide awards for two students. The awards will consist of a presentation (oral) award and a poster award. Each award will consist of: 1. a one-year membership to the ASM 2. Up to $100 credit at the ASM bookstore 3. A $250 cash award 4. An ASM plaque.
