Eligibility Established by the Deer Lodge Hospital Staff Association in 1980, this award is distributed by the Manitoba Medical College Foundation to support and enable continuing development for students in fields of the medical health sciences.
Funding is available to full time Graduate Students (M.Sc./ Ph.D.), hereafter referred to as the “applicant”, in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Manitoba - seeking to cover costs for attending national and/or international scientific meetings to present the results of their research. The number of awards available is determined on an annual basis and is subject to variability.
Eligibility:
  • Academic standing – Applicants are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in their respective program of study (minimum of 24 credit hours in a Bachelor degree) at a recognized university.
  • Citizenship – All applicants, regardless of citizenships, are eligible to apply.
  • Supervisor Support - There are no limitations on the total number of applicants. A supervisor may only sign two applications per competition cycle.
  • Restrictions-Per competition- Applicants cannot receive a travel award in consecutive years. The maximum award to a successful applicant will not exceed $1,000.00.
  • Value up to $1,000 per applicant
