Eligibility Research Fellowship Program To offer senior graduate students or recent post-graduates the opportunity to undertake research projects using the National Collection at the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation, which is comprised of the Canadian Museum of Civilization (CMC) and the Canadian War Museum (CWM). The National Collection comprises over 5 million items including artifacts, historic archives (textual, photographic and audio-visual) and works of art. This program is being offered in order to:
  • Enhance the quantity and quality of museum-based scholarship in Canada
  • Encourage material history and material culture research using the National Collection
  • Expand the Corporation's knowledge of particular facets of the National Collection, including time periods, communities, collectors and materials
    Applicant Criteria
  • Applicants must be senior graduate students or recent post-graduates with, at minimum, a Master of Arts or equivalent research degree at commencement of their fellowship
  • Applicants will have a superior record of original research activity and achievement, and a demonstrable ability to present research results in a variety or formats
  • An applicant’s skill set must be fully compatible with his/her fellowship project, which may include the ability to work in both official languages, French and English.
  • Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanents residents of Canada.
