Eligibility The following awards are available through the Centre of Aging for Masters and/or PhD students:
  • Dr. Barbara Payne Scholarship ($800)
  • Centre on Aging Betty Havens Memorial Graduate Fellowship ($2,000)
  • Jack MacDonell Scholarship for Research on Aging ($4,000)
  • Esther and Samuel Milmot Scholarship ($1,000)
    The Esther and Samuel Milmot Scholarship is available to Faculty of Arts graduate or undergraduate students ONLY.

In addition to our awards, the Centre adjudicates (2) graduate fellowships on behalf of the Alzheimer Society (valued at $4000 each). Any post-secondary graduate student in Manitoba may apply for the Alzheimer Society graduate fellowships: https://umanitoba.ca/centre-on-aging/student-opportunities/funding-and-awards/alzheimer-society-manitoba-fellowships

Applicants will be contacted once the adjudication committee has made their decision.

Tenable at To be eligible to apply for any of the awards tenable in the 2024–2025 academic year, students must intend to register full time in a graduate program at the UM in the upcoming year (for both Fall and Winter terms).
Deadlines May 14
Application Details Each award requires a separate application to be submitted no later than May 14, 4pm, CT.
