Eligibility The D.F. Plett Historical Research Foundation provides graduate fellowships for students in the Masters and PhD programs at the University of Winnipeg/Manitoba, and in the Masters program at Canadian Mennonite University. These fellowships are intended to encourage graduate students who are pursuing studies and research in the history of the forerunners and descendants of the 1870's Mennonite migrants to Manitoba. Value At the University of Winnipeg, a maximum of two fellowships are held at any given time. PhD Fellowships are $15,000 while Masters Fellowships are $10,000. At the Canadian Mennonite University, one Masters Fellowship is available for $7,500 Eligibility At the University of Winnipeg, eligible candidates must have been admitted or are applying to complete a Master of Arts degree in history in the Joint Masters Program of the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba, or a PhD in history at the University of Manitoba. At the Canadian Mennonite University, eligible candidates must have been admitted to complete a Master of Arts degree in Theological Studies and have completed the 36 hours of course work in the program.

Deadlines to apply: For application to study at the University of Winnipeg, the deadline is January 1st if studies are to commence in the fall of that year. For applications to study at the Canadian Mennonite University, the deadline are March 1st if studies are to commence in the fall of that year, and July 1st if studies are to commence in January.
