Eligibility The Government of Italy offers scholarships to Canadian citizens and Italian citizens residing in Canada (IRE) who wish to pursue studies in Italy. They are intended for students, professionals, scientists, researchers, teachers, and artists who meet the necessary requirements. Candidates must be between 18 and 35 years of age (see exception at “Language and Culture Courses for Teachers of Italian”) The following types of scholarships are available: -Short-term scholarships for language study (1-3 months, summer 2012) -Long-term scholarships (3-9 month, 2012 academic year) -Degree programmes -Advanced training in music and arts studies -Language and Culture courses for Teachers of Italian (age limit of 35 does not apply to this category) -Post-graduate courses (Research doctorates; Master’s degrees; Advanced Research)
Value Scholarship recipients will receive a monthly stipend of 620 € (700 € for IRE). Recipients must be aware that this amount is unlikely to be sufficient to cover all the costs of the stay, and that the initial payment may be delayed.
