Eligibility The Canadian Association of Professional Apiculturalists (CAPA) Student Merit Achievement Award was established to recognize outstanding achievement by a student in the field of apiculture. This is an annual award with a value up to $500.00. All students, graduate and undergraduate, attending Canadian or foreign universities and all foreign students attending Canadian institutions are eligible for this award. Eligible student will have demonstrated excellence in research, extension or any other area contributing significantly to the development of apiculture. Nominations must be accompanied by two letters of recommendation and a biographic sketch of the nominee. A summary of the research work including objectives, methods, conclusions and significance should be accompanied by relevant research papers or abstracts of thesis or dissertations. Excellence in extension or other areas significant to apiculture development should be documents by copies of publications, audio visual programs or other pertinent information. An explanation of purpose, exposure to the industry and impact should be included. Documentation for a nominee may include information in more than one category. As an example, a nominee may have conducted important research and have been outstanding in extension or teaching.
