Eligibility Scholarship The Municipal Education and Research Foundation (MERF) Scholarship Program has been developed to encourage and support the studies of post-secondary students with an interest in municipal government. Eligibility:
  • Persons enrolled as full-time students in a college or university program related to the broad field of municipal government or the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario Municipal Administration Diploma Program
  • Must currently be a permanent resident of the province of Ontario
  • Must be able to demonstrate a history of commitment involvement, community improvement, public service and volunteerism
  • Must not have been employed as regular full-time employees in the municipal sector within the two years prior to the date of application Value: up to $1,000 Deadline: June 30
    Local Government Research Paper Award MERF will annually be granting awards to current student in diploma or degree-granting programs, for outstanding research papers on the subject or municipal administration and/or management. The awards will be judged on technical competence, significance of findings, originalit and clarity or expression. Value: up to three @ $500 Deadline: June 15
