Eligibility The Foundation offers funding to support cystic fibrosis research and training in these categories: Scholarships The CCFF Scholarship program is intended to attract gifted inverstigators to CF research. To that end, applications are restricted to candidates who ahve received their first faculty appointment within the preceding five calendar years. Applicants must hold an M.D. or Ph.D. and must be sponsored by the chairman of the appropriate departmenn and by the dean of the faculty. Scholarships must be held in conjunction with a CCFF Research grant. Fellowships Individuals who hold M.D. or Ph.D. degrees are eligible to apply. Medical graduates should already have completed basic residency training and must be eligible for Canadian licensure. Studentships are awarded for studies at the master's or doctoral level. Students are expected to spend at least 75% of their time on the research training described in their application. It is recognized that for joing MD/MSc or MD/PhD programs that the percentage of time spent on research training may vary. Special Travel Allowances for Fellows & Students may be awarded to CCFF-supported Fellows and Students, for each year of their award, upon written application and pending the availability of funds. No CCFF-supported Fellow or Student may receive more than one grant per year. Subject to the availability of funds and under certain circumstances, CCFF-supported Scholars, physicians who are not CF clinic directors but who specialize in the clinical care of adults with cystic fibrosis at Canadian CF clinics, and recipients of the Skelly and Lackey Summer Studentship awards, may also be eligible.
