Eligibility The Julian M. Szeicz Award for Early Career Achievement The award is presented annually by the Canadian Association of Geographers in recognition of research achievement and career potential by a Canadian geographer at an early career stage. The purpose of the award is to foster the development of geographical studies of Canada and to provide recognition of recently established geographical practitioners. Nomination deadline: January 31. Contact valerie.shoffey@cag-acg.ca The Starkey-Robinson Award for Graduate Research of Canada The Starkey-Robinson Award gives recognition to high quality graduate research that furthers understanding of the geography of Canada. The Award is adjudicated annually by the Awards Committee of the CAG. Eligibility for the Award is based on the completion of a thesis or comparable work at the Masters or Doctoral level at a Canadian University within the preceding 2 years. Nomination deadline: January 31 Contact: valerie.shoffey@cag-acg.ca Wiley-Blackwell New Scholar Publication Award The Wiley Blackwell New Scholar Publication Award encourages new scholars to participate fully in the Associationís activities and to establish TCG / LGC as a priority outlet for their research. For the purposes of this award, new scholars are defined as students, post-doctoral fellows, or faculty members in their first year of full-time appointment on the date of submission. Previous winners are ineligible. The award will be announced in even-numbered years during the annual meeting of the association. The Robin P. Armstrong Memorial Prize for Excellence in Native Studies The Armstrong Memorial Prize recognizes and promotes excellence in applied research on Canada's Aboriginal peoples. All students who, during the current or previous calendar year, have completed a Master's or PhD thesis in native studies or geography related to Canada's aboriginal peoples may apply. Study Group Awards There are several Study Group Awards available, visit http://www.cag-acg.ca/en/cag_study_group_awards.html for details. Student Travel Grant Each year the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada provides the Association with a grant to assist current CAG Student members who are Canadian citizens living in Canada or in other countries and non-Canadian CAG Student members who are residing in Canada who are presenting papers/posters, to attend the CAG Annual Meetings. To be eligible students must have held CAG Student membership in the year prior to the meeting as well as the year in which the meeting takes place and their paper/poster must have been accepted. It is not necessary that proof of paper/poster acceptance be established until after the meeting. Application deadline: February 15. Contact: valerie.shoffey@cag-acg.ca
