Eligibility	The family, friends and colleagues of Dr. Clarence Barber have contributed to establish and endowment fund in his memory that is initially. Dr. Barber joined the University of Manitoba in September 1949 where he remained until his retirement in 1983. During his tenure, from 1963 until 1972 he served as Head of the Department of Economics. The annual award is intended to reward those students who have done excellent work n macro-economics and/or social policy. The award will be offered to a graduate student who: is enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, in a Master's or Doctoral degree program delivered by the Department of Economics at the University of Manitoba has achieved a minimum degree grade point average of 3.5 (or equivalent) based on the last 60 credit hours of study is undertaking or has proposed to undertake thesis research in macro-economics and/or social policy.
