Eligibility American Association of University Women (AAUW) has a long and distinguished history of advancing educational and professional opportunities for women in the United States and around the globe. Fellowship and grant recipients perform research in a wide range of disciplines and work to improve their schools and communities. Their intellect, dedication, imagination, and effort promise to forge new paths in scholarship, improve the quality of life for all, and tackle the educational and social barriers facing women in the United States and around the globe. Fellowship and grant recipients perform research in a wide range of disciplines and work to improve their schools and communities. American Fellowships American Fellowships support women scholars completing doctoral dissertations, conducting postdoctoral research, or finishing research for publication. Recipients must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Application deadline: November 15, 2010 Community Action Grants Community Action grants provides funds to individuals, AAUW branches, AAUW state organizations, and local community-based nonprofit organizations for innovative programs or non-degree research projects that promote education and equity for women and girls. Recipients must be women who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Applications deadline: January 15, 2011 International Fellowships International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Fellowships support graduate or postgraduate studies at accredited institutions. Recipients are selected for academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to women and girls. The overwhelming majority return to their home countries to become leaders in their fields as heads of state, university professors, community activists, world-renowned artists, and scientists. Application deadline: December 1, 2010 Selected Professions Fellowships Selected Professions Fellowships are awarded to women who intend to pursue a full-time course of study at accredited U.S. institutions during the fellowship year in one of the designated degree programs where women's participation traditionally has been low. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Application deadline: January 10, 2011.
