The Rural Maternity New Emerging Team (RM-NET) is inviting applications for a Doctoral Fellowship that will enable a motivated doctoral student researcher to join our interdisciplinary team investigating rural maternity care in British Columbia. As a Doctoral Fellow, you will join a highly active interdisciplinary team of researchers with expertise in family practice, sociology, community development, family studies, geography, nursing, economics,
epidemiology, geography, and health system and policy analysis. The successful candidate will receive funding up to $45,000 CDN (benefits included)
for an 18 month placement with the Rural Maternity New Emerging Team (RM-NET). The Doctoral Fellow will pursue her/his own dissertation research topic related to rural maternity care and may also participate in other RM-NET research activities as
appropriate. The Fellow will receive mentoring and support from the principal investigators, research coordinator, and will benefit from collaborative research relationships with the rest of the research team. As well, the Doctoral Fellow will receive support in applying for funding from other sources to continue her/his research as appropriate. The Fellow will be provided with office space in Vancouver, as well as access to and use of Internet, printers, and telephone and fax lines. Eligibility: ♦ The successful applicant will be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, registered in a doctoral program in Canada; ♦ Candidates from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply;
♦ Candidates may be completing coursework for their PhD program, but will be expected to contribute sufficient time to the RM-NET to develop a research focus area. |
