Eligibility |
Philipp Ens, George D. Wiebe, and Alfred Schellenberg have established the Philipp and Anna Wiebe
Endowment Fund with a gift to the Mennonite Foundation of Canada (MFC). Funds will be used to offer a scholarship for a student in the Marcel A. Desautels Faculty of Music at the University of Manitoba. Normally, one scholarship will be offered each year. The scholarship will be offered to a graduate student who:
is enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, in a Master of Music program;
has achieved a minimum degree grade point average of 3.5 (or equivalent) based on the last 60
credit hours of study (or equivalent);
has demonstrated outstanding musical and leadership abilities in choral conducting;
has demonstrated a strong interest in choral music, generally, embracing a variety of secular and
sacred musical styles, and a particular interest in the music of the congregation.
In any given year that there is no qualified graduate student, the scholarship will be offered to an undergraduate student who:
is enrolled full-time in the Marcel A. Desautels Faculty of Music;
has achieved a minimum degree grade point average of 3.5;
has demonstrated outstanding musical and leadership abilities in choral conducting;
has demonstrated a strong interest in choral music, generally, embracing a variety of secular and sacred musical styles, and a particular interest in the music of the congregation
