Eligibility UKERC International Energy Summer School 2012 is a unique, week-long programme to challenge students nominated by PhD supervisor to develop an appreciation of the whole energy system that requires collaboration and interaction with other students and energy experts from across disciplines and sectors. This summer school is professionally facilitated and demands a high level of engagement by participants; the experience will be highly intensive, team-focussed and include skills training in communication and engagement with various audiences.
While the summer school does not provide for highly specialised disciplinary content, students have an opportunity to share their research with each other through two poster sessions – one with each other and the second with eminent UK energy researchers later in the week.

Visas
The student must obtain any necessary visas for entry to the UK. UKERC will provide on request a supporting letter for a visa application but the responsibility for making a valid and timely application rests with the student.
Costs
There is no charge to attend the Summer School. UKERC provides all accommodation, meals, course materials, and social activities. Other than personal expenditure and travel to the venue participants will incur no costs.
Venue
The Summer School will be held in a purpose-built conference building on the campus of Warwick University, offering a good standard of accommodation in single bedrooms and high quality catering that can meet specific dietary requirements. It is approximately one hour by train from London.
