Eligibility The Government of France, through the Office for Science and Technology at the Embassy of France in Canada offers scholarships to increase the mobility of Canadian students and post-doctoral researchers to France. This program is offered in partnership with Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT). The Office for Science and Technology at the Embassy of France in Canada offers scholarships for study in France at the master's level, doctoral or post-doctoral level. The competition is open to all disciplines (natural sciences, engineering, humanities, social sciences and the arts). The scholarships are intended exclusively for applicants from Canada residing outside of the province of Québec. Information about the program exclusively for applicants from the province of Quebec (the Frontenac program) is available on the website of the General Consulate of France in Quebec. For PhD candidates, priority will be given to those undertaking a joint PhD program (cotutelle).

Applicants:
  • must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents in Canada;
  • must not be a resident in the province of Quebec at the time of application;
  • must have an undergraduate degree; and
  • must not be a French national residing in Canada.
  • Competency in French is not a requirement at the time of application
Value The award includes: a monthly allowance of approximatly 1060€ *; Canada-France round-trip, economy-class airfare; health insurance; tuition fees for the academic program; and assistance with registration, visa matters and finding accommodation.

Applicants:
  • must complete the online application form;
  • must enter data in the fields provided, following instructions for each item;
  • must, upon completion, verify the data prior to submission;
  • can obtain a hard copy for record keeping by printing the form using the print function in the browser, prior to submitting;and
  • must click SUBMIT for the online application. A confirmation page and reference number will appear after submission.
