Eligibility	In memory ofBabs Asper (B.A./54), Dr. Arthur V. Mauro has established an endowment fund at the University of Manitoba, with an initial gift in 2011. The fund will be used to offer a scholarship for students in the Arthur V. Mauro Centre for Peace and Justice who embody public service based on a record of community service. The available annual interest from the fund will be used to offer one scholarship to a student who: is enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, in the first year of eitherthe Joint M.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies or the Ph.D. in Peace and Conflict Studies; has achieved a minimum degree grade point average of 3.5 (or equivalent) based on the last 60 credit hours of study (or equivalent); embodies public service based on a demonstrated record of community service. The Scholarship is renewable for one year for Master's students, and up to three years for Doctoral students provided that the recipient: continues to be registered full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, in either the Joint M.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies or the Ph.D. in Peace and Conflict Studies; maintains a minimum degree grade point average of 3.5 (or equivalent) based on the last 60 credit hours of study (or equivalent); is in good standing in his or her degree program.

Application Details	Candidates will be required to submit an application that includes (i) a current academic transcript(s), (ii) a statement (maximum 500 words) describing their record of community service, and (iii) two letters of recommendation (maximum 500 words each); one from a faculty member at a post-secondary institution and one from a representative of the broader community.
